Legendary Miami-Dade Leader and Educator Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Endorses Kendrick Meek for Congress

Today, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall endorsed Kendrick Meek for Congress in Florida's 24th Congressional District.

“As a lifelong educator and community advocate, I know exactly what it takes to deliver for the families of Miami-Dade County,” Dr. Bendross-Mindingall said. “That is why I am proud to endorse Kendrick Meek. My bond with the Meek family runs incredibly deep, spanning decades of shared fights for civil rights, public education, and true economic opportunity in our community. Having worked alongside this family for generations, I have seen Kendrick’s dedication firsthand. I know his heart, and I know his unwavering commitment to our neighborhoods. Kendrick is the only candidate in this race with direct federal legislative experience and experience working in the White House. Bendross-Mindingall represents District 2 on the Miami-Dade County School Board, a position she has held since 2010 to advocate for students, teachers, and public education. A former classroom teacher and principal, she previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, where she championed community empowerment and equitable resource distribution for South Florida families.
